A battle scene from the Gigantomachia: ophiopode (serpent-legged) giant (Gration?) with his swirling serpentine lower limbs (below the knees) terminating with the heads of serpents, hurling rocks in the fight against the bow-armed goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness, the moon, and archery Artemis (Diana) and her hunting dogs. |
