(A) Serpent-entwined and "crowned" winged leontocephalic (lion-headed) Mithraic deity (Aeon?) with the thunderbolt (keraunos in Greek, fulmen in Latin) in the middle of his chest, holding a key with twelve drill-holes in his right hand and long staff and a whip (?) in his left; pair of tongs, a hammer, kerykeion (caduceus) with two confronted serpents entwined around the staff, a cock, and a pinecone are placed beside the deity's lower legs. (B) Serpent-entwined and "crowned" winged leontocephalic (lion-headed) Mithraic deity (Aeon?) with the four cardinal astrological signs of Zodiac on his body (Aries and Libra on the chest and Cancer and Capricorn on each upper thigh), holding torches (?) in his hands, and standing on a globe. |
