Figure EAA-chi-043. Alexei Alexeev and the south-west view of the Mutianyu sector (near the Watch-tower 13) of the Great Wall, famous for its conspicuously serpentine configuration. It was originally built in 500s AD, during the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577 AD) and extensively rebuilt by 1569 AD, during the reign of the Emperor Longqing (r. 1567-1572 AD) of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD).
