Winged quadrupede dragon with long, swirling tail serving as a decorative crest of the helmet of the soldier of the defeated army of the Roman Emperor Maxentius (r. 306-312 AD) after the Battle of the Milvian Bridge (28 October 312 AD), in which the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great (r. 306-337 AD) was the ultimate victor.
