| Figure NAM-can-067. Winged, bearded, bipede dragon with the vine's foliated tendrils coming from its mouth supporting the nimbate Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) holding the floral cross, the subject referred to in the Bible (New Testament), NRSV as follows: ✠ "“Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!” ⟨...⟩ for the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of the water of life, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." (Revelation 7: 10, 17);
✠ "Then I saw another beast that rose out of the earth; it had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon [δράκον, drakon = "fabulous serpent/dragon" in Greek]." (Revelation 13: 11);
✠ "Then I looked, and there was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion! And with him were one hundred forty-four thousand who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads." (Revelation 14: 1); and
✠ "They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful" (Revelation 17: 14). |
